Howard Johnson Hotel

The Howard Johnson is located quite close to the highway so making it to the location of the seminar will be quick work. It is also one of the newer hotels in Victoria, so the facilities are quite clean and comfortable.
Another option might be AirBNB for the “Royal Oak” area for Victoria BC.
Other visiting Iaidoka also recommend some hotels downtown
