CIA Organizational Membership Restructuring
In accordance with the Government of British Columbia’s Non-Profit societies act, President Denton Hewgill Sensei and Manager of Finances Chris Tooley Sensei have restructured the organisational membership of the Canadian Iaido Association in order to strengthen our association, and coordinate with the All Japan Iaido Federation (ZNIR).
New Victoria Dojo: Shoshinkai Quadra
Mark McAllister (3 Dan, ZNIR) and Stuart Branson (3rd Dan, ZNIR) will be moving their Prospect Lake Dojo to Quadra on Monday nights from 6:30PM to ~8:30PM at 3947-B Quadra Street.
1st Shoshinkai Gasshuku 第一回初心会合宿 Complete!
The first Shoshinkai December 2017 Gasshuku – Thanks to all who attended, please remember what we went over and write down/practice the techniques. Everyone worked hard, and afterwards we had a great dinner. We look forward to future Gasshukus!

New Dojo: Shoshinkai Prospect Lake
Mark McAllister (3 Dan, ZNIR) and Stuart Branson (3rd Dan, ZNIR) will be opening a new Dojo on Monday nights from 6PM to 8PM in Prospect Lake, at the Prospect Lake Community Hall, starting September 4, 2017. We look forward to meeting new practitioners!
2017 Certificates have arrived
The ZNIR Dan Certificates for the 2017 CIA Summer Dan examination have arrived from the ZNIR in Japan through official channels. After some minor checks, CIA headquarters will be sending them out to your local Senseis, who will then present you your certificate.
