Happy New Year 2021! 明けましておめでとうございます! 2020 brought a difficult worldwide pandemic which cancelled all public practice but we know dedicated iaidoka found ways to continue their personal iaido practice. The Canadian Iaido Association will continue to follow all precautions as necessary – we hope to be able to practice again together in a post-pandemic!

The 2020 Canadian Iaido Summer Seminar has been cancelled due to the worldwide pandemic.

Congratulations to Denton Hewgill Sensei for being awarded 8th Dan Certification from Musou Jikiden Eishin Ryu Seitokai, and Itoh Takeji Sensei for being awarded Kyoshi Certification, also from Musou Jikiden Eishin Ryu Seitokai.
2019 ZNIR Certificates have arrived
The ZNIR Dan Certificates for the 2019 CIA Summer Dan examination have arrived from the ZNIR in Japan through official channels. After some minor checks, CIA headquarters will be sending them out to your local Senseis, who will then present you your certificate. Once again, congratulations to all who passed!
2019 VNCS Cultural Fair Demonstration complete

2019 VNCS Cultural Fair Demonstration
We will have the pleasure of demonstrating again at the Victoria Nikkei Cultural Society Fair, October 26, 2019, at the Esquimalt Recreation Centre.
Gorge Canada Day Celebration Demonstration
The Canadian Iaido Association will once again be demonstrating Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido at the Gorge Canada Day Celebration and Picnic July 1st, 2019.
