2014 Summer Seminar has begun!
Welcome everyone attending to beautiful Kingston, Ontario. The Seminar started July 11th, and we all look forward to learning much about Iaido, and seeing everyone at seminar practice throughout this weekend. Please practice hard!

If you are testing for a dan this year, please make sure to sign up using the Dan Registration page on the left. Also, please make sure you study and understand the Dan Examination Rules, the ZNIR Regulations and Requirements, and the ZNIR and CIA Fees.

21st Annual CIA Summer Seminar July 11-13, 2014
The 21st Annual CIA Summer Iaido Seminar will be held at Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, July 11 to the 13th.
Congratulations to Itoh sensei and Tooley sensei
The CIA is proud to announce that both Takeji Itoh sensei and Chris Tooley sensei have performed at 61st Zen Nippon Iaido Renmei Zenkoku Taikai’s Enbukai (第六十一回全日本居合道連盟全国大会), and successfully attained the rank of ZNIR Rokudan (6 Dan) at the recent Zen Nihon Iaido Renmei Kyoto Zenkoku Shougou Dani Shinsakai (全日本居合道連盟京都全国称号段位審査会).
Itoh Sensei 5th Dan League First Place
The CIA would like to express congratulations to Itoh Sensei for achieving first place (Yuushou) in the 5th Dan division Kanazawa Eishin Ryu Iaido Kyōgi Taikai (tournament). The CIA is very grateful to have such an excellent practitioner in our dojos.
CIA Official Artifacts
Two granting ceremonies have been held by Kansayaku Itoh Sensei, on Friday March 28th, 2014, in a traditional Japanese manner, formality, and in traditional Japanese formal dress.
New CIA Dojo: Shoshinkai (初心会) Oak Bay
We are pleased to announce that Chris Tooley Sensei, 5dan, will be starting a new Dojo on March 1, until March 29, at the Monterey Center in Oak Bay, Victoria BC.
2013 CIA Annual Summer Seminar Complete!
The annual Summer Seminar in Victoria BC was a success, and we would like to remind everyone to remember what they learned during and after the seminar. Everyone demonstrated admirably but we all have lots of work to do still! Keep up the practice and we’ll see you next year!
