2025 Canadian Iaido Association Seminar

We are pleased to announce the 28th ZNIR/CIA Iaido Seminar will be held in Victoria, BC, from September 12 to 14, 2025, at the Lochside School Gymnasium in Victoria British Columbia.

Visiting ZNIR Instructors:

Once again we welcome two well known Sensei visiting from Japan.

Instructors
Tanida Hiroshi Sensei, 10th Dan Hanshi, ZNIR President of the Kantō region.
Itoh Takeji Sensei, 7th Dan, ZNIR Overseas Auditor of the Kantō region.

A form will be available in May/June to sign up for the seminar – stay tuned!

The ZNIR examination committee officials sent from Japan this year will be: Tanida Sensei and Itoh Sensei.

Accommodations:

If you need help finding accommodations, please let us know. Staying closer to Lochside School would probably be the easiest, the locations you should look for are Elk Lake, Royal Oak, Colquitz, and further out is Oak Bay. Public transportation to the Lochside school will likely be difficult. If you are having difficulty finding accommodations, please contact us. If you need assistance with transportation, please also contact us.

There may be AirBNBs in the area, look in the “Royal Oak”, “Cordova Bay” and “Colquitz” area for Victoria BC.

Other visiting Iaidoka have also recommended some hotels downtown, but that may require some travelling.
