1st Shoshinkai Gasshuku 第一回初心会合宿 Complete!

The first Shoshinkai December 2017 Gasshuku – Thanks to all who attended, please remember what we went over and write down/practice the techniques. Everyone worked hard, and afterwards we had a great dinner. We look forward to future Gasshukus!

This Gasshuku is a local event held by the Shoshinkai Victoria Iaido group, where martial arts practitioners from local groups gather together for intense training and camaraderie. It was held in Victoria, at the Prospect Lake Community Centre.

Special thanks to Takeji Itoh Sensei for leading the Gasshuku, bringing the teachings from Ikeda Soke, Kato Sensei and Tanida Sensei directly from Japan. We also thank CIA President Denton Hewgill Sensei and Chris Tooley Sensei for instruction assistance.

Itoh Sensei flew back to Canada specifically to initiate and support this first Shoshinkai Gasshuku, and though he most likely won’t be able to participate in future Gasshukus, he hopes in the future we will have a Gasshuku every year, to improve all Shoshinkai members’ Iaido.
